Top Ten Questions about Parental Care Ministries USA

Hello Uganda Bloggers,

I have been getting a few questions about Parental Care Ministries USA so i thought i would send a note to everyone to further explain ourselves.

1. Who are we?  We are a non-profit ministry being used by the Lord to further his Kingdom here in the United States and throughout the world.

2. How did we get to Uganda? Monica met Pastor Emmy in Mozambique in February of 2007.  After unsuccessfully obtaining a visa for Emmy, he invited our entire family to visit Uganda in March of 2008. There we were able to see first hand his school of orphans and visit some of his 34 churches and pastors tht he oversees.

3.What is our goal for Uganda? To come along side Pastor Emmy and help him finish building his school at their current location,  develop ongoing support to sponsor his orphans on a monthly basis, obtain clean water and eventually electricity. In the future we hope to expand to grow one grade a year up to P7 level.

4.How will this be accomplished? Through lots of prayer and ongoing financial contributions from individuals as well as cooperation with other non-profit ministries.

5.What happens when contributions are made?  Where does the money go? 100% of every donation goes directly to the orphans.  No money is kept for any administrative duty.  In fact,  i can promise you that your donation is currently at least tripled in monetary value and that amount is sent directly to fund the work in Uganda. Some day we hope to be in other countries but for now our work in Uganda is not complete. We have much to do.

  1. 6.Where do you send a donation? You can send it to :  Parental Care Ministries USA,  3610 River Oaks    Tyler Texas  75707

7.Are donations tax-deductible?  Yes we are a non-profit 501c3 corporation just like any church or charity.   You will receive a contribution letter at the end of the year detailing your gift just like any other  non-profit entity.

8.What else are you doing currently in the United States? Our ministry has just partnered this month with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) here in Tyler.  Recently several donations were given to fund a  portable sound system for this precious program at Jones Elementary in Tyler Texas.  This was a huge answer to prayer as many children will continue to enter the Kingdom through this great after school ministry program.

9.How do we keep up with what is going on with PCM USA and the work in Uganda?  The best way is to follow our blog, www.parentalcareministries.org   for all the latest information.

10.When is the next trip to Uganda planned?  I am so blessed to help lead a small but very spiritually gifted team (including Daniel Wallace, Jay Ferguson, Karla Foreman )  leaving for Uganda October 31 for a 10 day journey.  More details on what we have planned will be coming.  If you would like to be a part of this trip in any way or have a special gift for Pastor Emmy or his orphans please let me know and i will make sure it gets hand delivered.

The New Fence Goes Up

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Hello Ugandan Bloggers,

Much is going on in Mbarara Uganda!!!  We reported several months ago about several of the schools in the country of being burned down. A handful of children have been killed by these school burnings.  The government began to crack down on schools last semester that are not up to code and close them down.  By the grace of our Lord Jesus,  we have been able to keep our school open.  Basic necessities of clothing, food , and shelter are now being provided on a routine basis. Nearly all the  orphans are off the ground in beds (around 21 are still on the floor) , each has one uniform that is precious to them, and the 13 acre banana plantation is providing a portion of the huge food budget to feed nearly 200 each month nearly 3 meals a day.  The government has required fire extinguishers for all the schools to operate and these too have been obtained.  Some inside information has been obtained from the intelligence community saying that another wave of burnings is planned for this semester.   This fall  no school was going to open without a perimeter fence in place.  This created a huge short term financial need.  Much prayer was given to the Lord for Him to provide.  Without it,  183 orphans would be wandering the streets with no place to learn, sleep or eat. In the end,  He provided.  Mark 10:27  Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”  The fence is currently being constructed. This 3 month term started on time on September 15th.   It is nearing completion.  It will meet the code the government requires. The orphans couldn’t be any more joyful.  What more could you ask for in life but for a real bed, some clothes to wear, something to satisfy the hunger in your belly,  and a chance to say thanks and worship your Creator.  They feel so blessed and want to say thank you for all you have done!
