School is back in session……
Sunday, September 13th, 2009The children are back in school, just like here in America. Most of them had a small 3 week break but the Parental Care School Choir was hard at work the entire time off. They successfully recorded a CD and and video from the same producer who worked with Chris Tomlin in Uganda. It is titled…“What the Lord Has Done for Us.” It is very good and professionally done. Click here to listen to the title track. Click on the Projects button for more information on how you can get a copy. 100% of the proceeds go to the ministry.
The children are busy with their studies and just love to learn. They are so thankful for their school fees being payed for by our sponsors. What a blessing it is to be able to learn. With this knowledge they will have opportunities that so many in Uganda don’t have. Mukama Asiimwe. When asked for prayer, many of them ask for prayers for knowledge knowing full well this is their ticket out of poverty. The children at Parental Care School Mbarara are on a 3 term session. They started back in September and will go until the first of December. Currently we are providing not only the food and salaries for the 20 staff but also all their school supplies, teacher equipment, and hygiene products for just $0.10 a day per child. What a bargain!!
The “Abias” Bath House Project is well under way as many of you have been moved by the story of this bath house. The well water is such a gift from the Lord but it also thankfully now creates other needs as well. Some generous friends of PCM have given us the ability to already begin this project. Thank you Samples, Stevensons, Forehands, Wallaces and even today a local Tyler “book club” that have all contributed to this so far. Praise God for these gifts. Work has already begun here. We hope to see a construction update in the days and weeks to come. To see our 5 minute YouTube video on this project click here . It is also located on our Projects button.

We are also proud to announce that the Esther Blanket project
has been completed. ” Wahoo!!!” as Pastor Emmy says. Many of you remember Esther saying from our last video in late 2008 that the only thing she would like is a blanket. Each of our 204 boarder children has a brand new blanket!!! You can see the joy on their faces as they are holding them up thanking the Lord for this provision. Thank you Jeske family for leading this project. We still have some additional blankets that have been provided here in the US to carry over with us on future trips and we will be doing so.
While the children were gone, Pastor Emmy had the Ezra School of Ministry meet on the school campus for a one week session of training. We haven’t been able to share as much about this ministry school but it is one of our 3 main areas of focus besides the school and 43 rural churches.
We will be sharing more about this group of pastors and how PCM is helping to equip them as time goes forward.
We hope you like the new website and find it easier to navigate. The buttons are much more clearly marked and content has been updated. Check them all out. I have been slow to load many of the pictures due to the time involved but this week we receive the professional ones back from Kristin. I will definitely be adding those in over time. The orphan and children’s button is going to be totally reorganized in the weeks to come making it easier to search and scroll through the children. Thank you Jamie and Mary at GROUPM7 doing our web design. Yall are amazing.
Thanks for reading this blog and supporting the ministry. Pray for Uganda, the orphans and pastors and Pastor Emmy. We have a few meetings coming up in the next few weeks. Let us know if you are interested in attending an update from our Trip #3 and we will direct you to one of them.
Blessings,
Bub and Monica
