We also want to send out a praise for the latest Parental Care Ministry Church that is being constructed in rural Uganda.  Here is a portion of the latest email from Pastor Emmy.  We can’t wait to visit this beautiful church for Christmas.

Beloved,
This is good to report to you dear. One of our branch Churches called Minekye Pentecostal Life Church they have worked very hard and build a new Church. They are peasant farmers who don’t earn much but we had a Conference there in May and I challenged them to have wide vision because God has put them in that place for the purpose. They responded to the message to my surprise today I have visited the Church and found where they have reached. They have told me that now they are praying that God will provide for the remaining materials to finish this Church.I am really very happy for this Church and what they have done. The Pastor of this Church is Called Reuben Beyaka. It is near the “Singing Church” as you call it.  I am really happy about the Pastors and how they are committed to serve Him.I am also thank God about Ezra School Of Ministry (Emmy’s pastor training school) because through this we have managed to teach them many things which are helping them to work hard for the Lord.

Pray for our children at Parental Care School Mbarara

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

The children and orphans at Parental Care School Mbarara could sure use your prayers today.  30 of the 200 have come down sick.  Some with just fever, some with the flu (presumed swine flu), and some with malaria.  Our school nurse Mirian is overwhelmed with work and we have had to send many of them to the clinic for evaluation and malaria blood tests.  This is interrupting their normal classroom studies and will be very costly.  Several of the children will be staying in the clinic overnight with IV drips of medication.

Psalm 107:19-21

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind.

10 Praises from the Pearl of Africa

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Greetings PCM Bloggers……Here are 10 praises from Uganda

1.  First of all,  thanks for hanging in there with us, your PCM team despite the lack of communication lately.  We have been overwhelmed with the swine flu at our office and i have had little energy to devote to writing.  Praise the Lord that the swine flu starting to slow down. Yeah!!! It has never lived up to the hype it was given on the news with only the asthmatics and special needs children having trouble with this virus.  There are some schools in Uganda that have seen the virus hit.  Pray for our children in Mbarara to stay healthy and the local officials in Uganda not to over react.

2.  We Praise the Lord for the beginning of the first bath house. “Wahoo” as Emmy says.  We are blessed that the construction is well under way.

Here is a picture of Abias and Gaudy again.  Oh my,  they are so thankful as you can see. We hope to be starting the boy’s bath house very soon.  We eventually hope to tile them  if the Lord provides the funds to do so.

3. We praise the Lord that our soccer team now has shoes ( and socks).   Wow,  what a thrill it is for me to report this one.  After playing with them and being the only player on the rock hard field with shoes,  now they all have soccer boots.  I thought that we were going to only be able to provide shoes for the first team,  but we were able to provide for the first and second team.  We hope someday to have team jerseys.  Until then,  these kids will be flashing their pearly whites.

4. We praise the Lord for the provision of food.  Nearly 1/2 of our monthly budget goes to food. It is still a bargain at 10-12 cents a child a day.  It is a ton of food though, nearly 25,000 MEALS A MONTH.    Due to the severe drought,  the price of food continues to increase.   Due to some generous donors we were able to stockpile some food at the end of the summer.  The price of food has increased by 20% to nearly $2600 a month.  This has caused many in Uganda to go hungry.  We praise God that we have been able to feed our children still porridge in the morning  and beans/potatoes/ bananas for lunch and dinner.  We are thankful the banana plantation is still producing big time for these orphan children. We also praise the Lord for the rain that is now continuing to fall. Many people are “digging food”  as Emmy says, and we hope and pray price of food will go down in January when these crops are ready to be harvested.  Pray that the additional support come in for November and December to cover this vital need of our ministry.

5. We praise the Lord for those that have been helpful to PCM and telling our story.  We are a young grassroots ministry.  It started with a friendship and now we fully support 250 children, and 20 staff full time as well as finding ways to bless our 43 pastors working in rural Uganda.  We have spoken to sponsors, supporters, friends, small groups, offices, schools,  Sunday school classes, and churches. We need your help though.  We need more opportunities to share this ministry.  If you have a group or just a few friends, we would love to come share what He is doing in this tiny African town of Mbarara.  We really need your help here.

6. We praise God for the Audio CD and Video that the orphans just completed.  The audio CD is still available as a fundraiser for $10.  I am currently editing the video version and hope to have it done someday soon…….after all the other projects we need to get done…. If you would like an audio copy that loads nicely to ITunes………let us know and we will send you one.

7.  We praise God for the new website and ability to present our minsitry in a simplified fashion. Most notably,  we are thankful for the new orphan search function that allow you to find a unsponsored orphan, girl or boy.  It also lets you search by class designation or name.  You can learn all of our “Fiona”s quite easily with this function.  Don’t confuse them with the “Phiona”s.  ;o)

8. We Praise God for our driver Emmy and his wife Mary. Most of you know Driver Emmy as the World’s greatest driver from the stories we have been able to share. Many of you remember their story at the wedding.  They stood apart for their huge smiles that day in July when they married with the other 12 couples. They have 2 children and live on Emmy’s PCM support salary of $75 a month. Mary opened a small store on the road to the school during our last trip and the team was moved to give her a wedding gift.  We are happy to report that the refrigerator to sell cokes is up and running. I can’t wait to purchase some for the entire family in December.  This small refrigerator will generate 5 cents for every drink she sells.  What a blessing this couple is to our ministry…..

9. We are Praise God for our sponsors.  We have approximately 65 committed sponsors who are regularly paying each month just a tad more than a dollar a day to support us.  THANK YOU. The orphans are praying for you and for others to follow.  The letters you write are treasured as we saw this summer.  Please keep it up. It’s making a world of difference to these children.

10.  We Praise the Lord for who He is and what He is doing with this ministry.

Thank you for your support.

Bub and Monica.
